Six months after returning home from Shang Simla, Mallie had accomplished her goal of having a new house built in her lot. The property was large, so she made a comfortable house with four bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, and large living, dining, and kitchen areas. She also wanted a separate garage with a small studio on the top floor and a basement. There was a medium height hedge surrounding the property, and she was planning nice gardens and outdoor spaces in the future. A few days passed, but Peregrine was no closer to remembering more about herself or her family. It was saddening to think that she was truly alone in the world. She was feeling undone, strange.
